TEA Party movements are
rising all over the state. Thousands
of people are uniting to
send a firm message to our
elected officials that we are
done with their over spending,
under producing and abandonment
of the people.
But there is some drawback,
with these kinds of numbers
there is going to be the “tics”
of politics, the business as
usual that comes along when
dealing with people.
Things are moving so
quickly both in the
“movement” and with regards
to “new” policy that one could
spend all day everyday researching,
writing, and warning
others. But the one thing
we have to be vigilant on is
that we, the people of Arkansas,
who have decided to stand
up and make our voices heard
do not allow ourselves to fall
under the ether again.
By that I mean that we don’t
become complacent or too
trusting of those who want our
vote and ultimately our
money.
There has already been one
candidate announced out of
the TEA Party movement, I
expect (with eagerness) that
there will be many more, it
would be awfully hard to
change things with the same
ole players.
I have not met this candidate
and there for will hold my
personal assessment until I am
able to “vet” him properly. I
am not saying he is not the
right candidate but I am not,
not saying that either. Each
and every person reading this
would be served well by doing
the same. Just because someone
“rises” out of the movement
should not necessarily
give them automatic passage.
We know from experience
that “party” politics is not the
way to vote...no matter if it is
a TEA party. Loyalty to a
“party” is not a step toward
liberty but could most certainly
be a step toward tyranny.
Arkansas let’s do our homework
and let’s make those
seeking our vote do theirs.

Will YOU Join in our Crusade?

L et Freedom Ring!
That is the sound you hear
across the state of Arkansas
now, as citizens come together
at TEA Parties, at rallies and
at training sessions everywhere.
People are learning to
Twitter, Facebook, Ning, blog
and blogtalk; gather information
on specific issues like
Cap and Trade, Public Health
Care, and EFCA. Citizens are
beginning to not allow themselves
to be spoon fed what
many elements in the media
wants us to hear, but to investigate
and to dig for the truth.
In 2008 Barack Obama was
able to orchestrate one of the
most effective and technologically
advanced campaigns in
the history of politics, and it
worked.
Two of the organizations
we have chosen to partner
with have put their money
where their mouth is, helping
to organize and hold events.
Americans for Prosperity
has sponsored 4 Health Care
rallies with unbelievable attendance.
In Jonesboro over 150
people attended, Russellville
60 plus, in Little Rock right at
500 in conjunction with the
TEA Party held on June 15th
and tonight in Bella Vista
there were at least 400 people
present. That’s right 400 people
on a HOT Monday night
in Bella Vista.
Then there is American Majority
who has sponsored Activist
and Candidate Training.
In May they did a tour that
included Springdale, Russellville,
Searcy, Little Rock, Hot
Springs and El Dorado where
at least 102 people attended,
last Saturday in Little Rock
they did a full day training for
36, and today in Fayetteville
in two sessions over 70 made
a decision to get involved!
I hope you see the pattern
here, people from 17 to 77
(and older in some cases) are
realizing that we are not going
to be able to continue life as
usual and get different result,
they understand that for
REAL Change THEY have to
be the change agent.
If you are beginning to feel
like something is different
well you are right, the people
of Arkansas are different, they
are getting informed, engaged
and acting on their own empowerment
to make a difference.
We encourage each of you
to become involved. There
are people needed on ALL
levels. Those who can do most
things from home on the computer,
or mailings, writing and
phone calling. People to attend
meetings, host events and
distribute flyers. People who
can analyze material and do
data research and various and
a sundry other things. The
point being is that there is a
place for everyone.
If you are truly concerned
and ready to move from set to
go then contact us at
www.arkansasunite.com
where we can plug you into
people in your area that are
already moving and have systems
in place.
I heard once that a single
pencil is very easy to break
but a hand full is almost impossible.
A line from one of
my favorite songs in the
broadway show Le Miserable-
“Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand
with me?
Somewhere beyond the barricade
Is there a world you long to
see?
Do you hear the people sing
Say, do you hear the distant
drums?
It is the future that they bring
When tomorrow comes!”
God’s Speed~

TEA Parites UNITE

This is one of several emails I have received from across the nation from people just like you and I who want to UNITE with others in defending our Country. Join with us.

Aloha Laurie,

I just wanted to say hi. I received your Arkansas Unite newsletter last night via email. Your newsletter and your website look GREAT! I was inspired and encouraged by seeing what you folks are doing over there. Our prayers are with your community and the families that lost loved ones in the recruiter shooting. That was a gross and blatant act of domestic terrorism that should be front page news everywhere. Not a blip over here but I found out via the tea party network.
Yesterday, I received a call out of the blue from a gal named Miki at the route66 tea party in Oklahoma. It was wonderful meeting her on the phone and hearing about their work.
Even though we patriots are spread across the country, the more we get to know each other at the grassroots level the better.
I’d like to add a link on our site at www.mauiteaparty.com to www.arkansasunite.com if that’s OK with you. Please add a Maui TEA Party link to your site if you feel it is appropriate.
Thank you for what you are doing for our nation. Many people may not see it yet, but it makes a big difference, even to us all the way out here in the middle of the Pacific.
Interestingly, while we are pretty far from the heartland of America, we are very much affected by Washington. For example, President Obama’s plan to cut missile defense systems is leaving me, my wife and our children here on Maui more vulnerable to a missile attack from North Korea. Our house is now or soon will be within range of the new North Korean missiles. The administration and congress are playing parlor games while North Korea is busily building nukes that could be landing in my yard. Some scoff at the idea of a missile attack on Hawaii. Most people at the time scoffed at the idea of a Japanese naval and air attack on Pearl Harbor.
This struggle is about survival of America as we know it. It’s also about survival of us, literally.

With aloha and in solidarity,

Marc Hodges

Lincoln and Pryor to Join the Cap-N-Tr8tors??

As you may know, the Clean Energy and Security Act, more commonly know as the cap-and-trade bill will reportedly http://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/inhofe_cap_and_trade/2009/04/22/206061.html add at least $3,000 a year to every American’s energy bill. It passed through the House by a razor thin vote of 219 to 212. Eight Republicans, now labeled the “Cap-N- Tr8tors” are having to answer for their individual decisions to help pass the largest tax bill ever in the history of Congress.
The Senate is expected to vote on it this Fall, probably in September. Our Senators Lincoln and Pryor are both reportedly for this bill in “some form”. Out of Arkansas’s four Congressmen, Congressman Mike Ross (D-4th District), was one of three who voted against it. Ross wrote a guest editorial in The Arkansas Democrat Gazette http://www.nwanews.com/adg/Editorial/262941/ on the subject, which may well put added pressure on Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor. Ross writes in part-
“There are few issues we address in the U.S. Congress that affect every individual, every family and every business more than the availability of energy.
Over the past few years, the realities of the 21st century have forced us to reexamine how we obtain and consume energy in this country. I believe that we must begin to address this issue not only for environmental reasons, but also to facilitate long-term economic growth and to protect our national security.
One proposal to address climate change is the Clean Energy and Security Act, more commonly know as the cap-and-trade bill. This legislation's goal is to overhaul the energy structure of the American economy in a comprehensive manner by placing a "cap" on carbon emissions, forcing American industries to reduce their emissions by roughly 80 percent by 2050. If companies emit more or less, they are allowed to buy and sell or "trade" extra emission permits among themselves, much like barrels of oil are traded today.
I did not support this bill in committee and have chosen not to support it before the full House of Representatives. In fact, I was one of only four Democrats to vote against the bill in committee despite lobbying efforts and phone calls that I received from Speaker Nancy Pelosi and President Obama. They did not send me to Congress, the people of Arkansas did, and that is why I voted for what I felt was in the best interest of Arkansas' 4th Congressional District….”

If you are one who has been complaining about not being heard, or that our politicians don’t represent the people, then I encourage you to MAKE SURE YOU ARE HEARD in this critical issue. It is time to besiege the offices of Mark Pryor and Blanche Lincoln with the wishes of their constituents, as a citizen of the state of Arkansas it is imperative that you make your views known. Don’t wait do it now. Call them, email them, and fax them, and do so every day for the next 30 days so there is no mistaking the voices of the people of Arkansas who sent them to Washington to represent us.
